科学123: 编辑手记——《新探索Quo》是怎么做起“奥运”来的？

《新探索Quo》杂志关注奥运话题，绝对是无心插柳之举。

大概在今年2月底3月初的时候，我们接到了“上头”的指令，杂志社要配合整个出版集团做几期奥运的话题，我们主编又把这个任务分到了我头上，于是，毫无前兆的情况下，我们就开始准备“奥运”话题——这就是我们杂志，包括我做“奥运”的来由。

定话题很容易，难的是又要奥运又要体现《新探索 Quo 》杂志的一贯风格——好玩有趣的科技，激发人的好奇心，还有一点社会时效性。那时候所有的杂志所有的焦点都集中在奥运话题身上（当然现在也是），没办法，只能剑走偏锋了。

最先定下来的是“鸟巢”，“鸟巢”里的科技含量肯定不用说，那是杠杠的，报道“鸟巢”科技的媒体，那更是杠杠的平方了，我们就把焦点放在了“鸟巢”的头顶，做了一篇奥运天气。

这还有一个小段子，我们的稿样送到西班牙总部时，西班牙版的《QUO》的同事给我们发了一封EMAIL，也要联系中方专家做一个奥运天气的选题。能看到《QUO》西班牙版的朋友，可以去翻翻2008年的6月号，里面有西班牙人眼中的北京奥运天气。

当主流媒体都集中到夺金运动员的备战时，《新探索 Quo 》把目光集中到了运动员的身体状况，为什么会受伤？受伤了怎么办？……好成绩除了运动员本身努力，还有什么因素？这些话题刚好赶上了姚明受伤和法国游泳选手贝尔纳狂破世界纪录，一下子有了社会时效性，话题出炉自然也就顺理成章。

做“奥运”话题，不得不提到我的一个遗憾。我们的6月刊本来要出一个“珠峰火炬为何不灭”的话题，由于“5.12”汶川地震，我们调整了既定选题。等到7月的时候，做这个话题已经有点不合时宜，所以只能放弃了。这也算是一个未能完成的心愿。
