对人来说，由于文化的不同，有时候要拒绝追求者还真的是门大学问。在有些国家对心仪的女生穷追不舍是对女生的一种赞美，而到了别国可能成了性骚扰。
动物界也有穷追不舍的例子，但是雌的红小灰蝶（Lycaena phlaeas daimio,small copper butterfly）有一套拒绝的方法。

日本的科学家观察红小灰蝶发现，雌性红小灰蝶如果不想交配，当雄性红小灰蝶靠近的时候，她会把翅膀合起来。
如果雄性红小灰蝶靠近的是还没有交配的雌性红小灰蝶，大部分的情形下雌蝶会维持翅膀在展开的状态。

可以看到，当雌红小灰蝶把翅膀维持在展开的状态时，可以充分显露出她的花纹，所以也更容易让雄蝶看到。
对于已经交配过的雌性红小灰蝶，由于她已经不需要再次交配，为了避免被雄蝶「霸王硬上弓」而受伤，雌性红小灰蝶在雄蝶靠近时，会把翅膀合起来。
不知道动物界是否有比这个更清楚明白的「NO」了。
